Frequently asked questions

Your questions answered.
How does the Euravox economy work?
As all users on all tiers interact with and consume content, the time they spend doing so is recorded. At the end of each billing period, the total amount of time for each user is calculated, and a substantial proportion of the income from that user is redistributed to the creators they interacted with on a pro-rata basis. For example, if a user spends 100 hours consuming content over a billing period, and spends one hour interacting with each of 100 creators' content, if they create €10 of redistributable advertising income, each of the 100 creators will receive €0.10. This is an artificial example so the math is simple, but the principle applies.
How does Euravox creator income for musicians compare with streaming?
The leading streaming provider is said to pay approximately $0.004 per stream. Euravox payouts don't work in exactly the same way, but for example, if a user happened to use Euravox primarily to listen to music, playing (say) on average 10 songs per day, roughly 300 songs per month. If they have a paid account, this equates to approximately $0.025 per play, roughly 6 times the payout of the streaming service; clearly a far better deal for musicians. Euravox doesn't compare directly, because it is a far richer environment, so musicians who put effort into engaging with their fans via the platform will also earn income from their posts and other media (e.g., video, interviews in the form of podcasts, etc.)
How does it work if a user consumes more than one kind of content at once?
This is a common case; if a user is listening to music, a podcast or an audiobook whilst also reading groups or individual posts, their attention score will be split 50:50 between the media types.
How are creators paid?
At the end of each billing period, fees are deducted first, and any remainder is paid directly into the creator's bank account. If they have insufficient earnings, the difference will be charged to their method of payment on file. For example, creator fees are €30/month, so if a creator earns €100 in a billing period, they will receive €100 - €30 = €70 minus any bank transfer fees. If they only earn €10, this will be deducted from their creator fees, so their method of payment will be charged €30 - €10 = €20. Anyone can change tier at any time by self-service request via their user settings. Note that users are responsible for any transaction fees.
What kind of support do you offer?
Support operates primarily via support forums within the Euravox platform.
